Most people who know me know that I have a time of the year that I refer to as “baking season”. We don’t have central air in our place and I really can’t handle being hot, so only turning on the oven when it’s cool out makes perfect sense. Right? Well, I’m sad to report that baking season has officially ended. But that’s okay, because there are plenty of non-bake desserts out there. Starting with this orange creamsicle float.
You remember creamsicles, right? In any other context, the thought of orange and dairy mixed together would make me feel ill. But somehow surrounding vanilla ice cream with orange sherbet really worked. This ice cream float version of the creamsicle is just as good. Just add some orange soda to vanilla ice cream, and voila, delicious dessert! Want to make it boozy? I find that a bit of amaretto really complements the flavors.
