Hot Apple Cider Tea is the perfect caffeinated way to start off a chilly morning.
I am really diving headfirst into fall this year. We’ve got pumpkins on the front porch, fall decorations on the mantel, the Halloween kitchen towels are out, and we just used our fireplace for the first time. Cider donuts, apple picking, and haunted houses/mazes are yet to be planned but they are coming. Oh, and I’ve got gallons of apple cider in the fridge. Because I heart a big steaming mug of spiced hot apple cider. Big time. And it’s even better if I can drink that mug while sitting in front of the fire. And now I’ve managed to even turn my morning tea into a mug of hot cider. Because really, if pumpkin spice lattes can be a massive industry, hot apple cider tea should be a thing.
And unlike a pumpkin spice latte, you don’t need a fancy frother to make yourself a mug of hot apple cider tea. Just heat up some apple cider on the stovetop with a stick of cinnamon until it simmers, then insert your favorite tea bag or tea leaves for 2-3 minutes. Remove tea and enjoy some deliciously caffeinated hot cider. I enjoy this with earl grey tea, but I have kind of an obession with earl grey and you should use your favorite tea. And if this is more of a late afternoon thing for you, throw in an ounce of bourbon or dark rum and turn it into a cocktail. Because why not?
