I’ve never been a big fan of french fries. They’re not terrible, but I really only eat them for the ketchup. When it comes to fried potato side orders, I’m a tater tot gal through and through. But sadly, it’s hard to find places that will serve tater tots these days, at least around Boston. Luckily, frozen tater tots are amazing and readily available. They’re delicious on their own, but they are even better in tater tot nachos or tachos. I don’t know why these aren’t served everywhere. What’s not to like? Delicious fried potato item? Check. Gooey cheese sauce? Check. Any topping you want? Check!
Make these for the Super Bowl or for a regular weekday. You won’t regret it.
Tater Tot Nachos
- Frozen tater tots
- Cheese sauce
- Toppings (jalapeno, onion, salsa, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream- basically anything you want)
Cook tater tots as directed on package. Make your own cheese sauce or buy a pre-made sauce. I used this recipe from Serious Eats and really liked it. Top with cheese sauce and whatever nacho toppings your heart desires. Enjoy!
