I can already tell, it’s going to be a looooong week. Lucky for me, I’ve recently rediscovered the Bee’s Knees Cocktail. Never had a Bee’s Knees? Well, you’re in for a real treat! This Prohibition era lemon, honey, and gin cocktail is another light easy drinker, but with a slight twist with the addition of the honey syrup. Apparently, citrus and honey were often used during the Prohibition to cover the funky taste of bathtub gin. Thankfully we no longer have to drink alcohol concocted in the bathroom, and the lemon and honey are there to enhance and not cover up the flavor. Give this cocktail a try, it’s truly the bee’s knees!
- 1 oz gin
- ¾ - 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tsp hot water
- 1 tsp honey
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Mix the hot water and honey together until well blended. Add mixture to tge cocktail shaker and add the gin and lemon juice. Shake well and strain into glass. Adjust to your taste and enjoy!
